HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Here we are saying happy new year again. It always amazes me how time flies. The days seem long but the years sure go fast!
Read my blog from last year about: ~ 4 New Year’s Resolutions That Will Change Your Life ~
It’s also hard to believe that this month marks our 19th year of homeschooling. When did we grow up? In thinking back on our years of homeschooling there are a couple of things that have stood out to me in our adventure~
~ one is that I have lacked confidence when I shouldn’t have,
~ two is that our children have not only done well, but they have thrived despite my lack of confidence.
So how can we homeschool (or do anything for that matter) with boldness and assurance especially when we feel so inadequate?
The short answer:
~ B Y F A I T H ~
Every successful person who has accomplished amazing things have all started at the beginning with nothing. They all took that first step of faith and then another step after that and after that, until they reached their goals no matter how far-reaching they seemed at the starting point.
FAITH ~ is the confidence in what we hope for and the assurance of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)
Trust in the Lord’s leading of your family in this venture and move forward faithfully. It belongs to the Lord. He will do the work so look to Him for the strength and confidence that you will need.
1. Be Faithful
When God lays it on your heart to do something, move forward by faith, even when fear and doubt creep in. Lean into the Lord for His strength and remain faithful even when it’s hard always remembering to keep Christ at the center of everything. Never neglect your relationship with Him.
~ Pray for your homeschool, your children, your family, your growth
~ Spend time in God’s Word and growing closer to the Lord
~ This seems obvious but I’m going to throw it out there anyway. Do school every day. When they’re young, a little bit goes a long way and when they’re older, they can do more on their own.
~ Take care of your needs. Do something you enjoy. Spend time everyday in personal growth. Learn ~ Grow ~ Lead!
2. Be a learner
~ Learn how to be an amazing parent
~ Learn to develop yourself personally for growth to be a better person
~ Learn how to do school with your children
~ Learn about the subjects your children are studying and learn along with them
~ Learn how to love learning
~ Learn something new everyday
~ Read all that you can about homeschooling, education, leadership, organization etc.
3. Be brave
Sometimes you have to put on a brave face and do things even when you’re scared. That’s how being a mom is period. Doing it afraid! Other times it’s what we think people are thinking of us that makes things tough. We will never measure up to other people’s expectations. You can’t allow what people think of you to affect you.
4. Be bold
Be confident in what you do. You are a great mom and an awesome teacher. You have great potential to influence your children and your family. BE BOLD!
~ Pray bold prayers
~ Pray impossible things for your homeschool, your children, and your family
~ Pray big
~ Bold prayers honor God
~ God honors bold prayers
5. Be consistent
~ Be consistent in your daily goals
~ Set aside blocks of time for your activities
~ Make a daily checklist
~ Be disciplined in your actions
~ There is no shame in starting slow or small
6. Be humble
~ Be open
~ Be teachable
~ Connect with God
Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will exalt you. James 4:10
~ Discover your motives
~ Be unselfish
~ Be others focused ~ READ “The Number One Way to Eliminate Burnout”
~ Instill value and confidence in everyone you touch
Do nothing from selfish or empty conceit, but with humility of mind, regard one another as more important than yourselves. Philippians 2:3
We can have confidence in our homeschooling, our parenting, our marriage and in life. We have the Holy Spirit working in us and leading us. Let’s step out by faith and start HOMESCHOOLING WITH CONFIDENCE!
Health and Wellness Tip
When you’re not feeling well and not on top of your game, it can hinder your motivation and your progress. Our food, our environment and the lifestyle that is so popular today can damage our health in unimaginable ways. It happens so slowly and for so long that we don’t even notice how poor our health has become.
~ Brain fog
~ Lack of energy
~ Chronic pain
~ Memory problems
And there are hundreds more symptoms that can prevent us from being our best. This has a great negative side affect on our lives and our family. Especially if our family is feeling the same way!
It’s essential to take a closer look at what we’re eating and the supplements we’re taking to make sure we’re getting all the necessary nutrients to achieve optimal health.
The Lord has answered my prayers and cries for help. He brought me to a company that specializes in gut health, blood sugar balance, detoxification, safe and healthy weight loss, and inflammation. I’m spreading the word about how Plexus has been a life-changing experience for our family. I want to help educate others on the importance on nutrition and balance in the body. Health and wellness doesn’t happen by accident. We have to be intentional with our diet and exercise and even with taking the right vitamins and supplements so we can live our best lives for the glory of God.
Be well and may God bless you!
