When Life Happens and Expectations Fail

To say we were super excited to fly to Phoenix, Arizona to celebrate our grandson’s first birthday is a huge understatement.  Although my plans were to spend as much time with him his first year, it had been 9 months since our last visit.  I’m proud of myself for keeping my inner brat from throwing a colossal tantrum, that could be seen by everyone.  I pretty much kept it to myself…mostly.

I didn’t want anything ruining our trip.  So staying away from homeschool group, youth group, and church functions, and children get togethers the week before our trip seemed like a reasonable way to prevent our children from getting sick.  Scott and I already had the (HORRIBLE) upper respiratory virus the month before but managed not to pass it along to the kids.  Normally, that would have thrilled me but the nagging feeling that the illness would probably come right about the time of our vacation worried me ~ so we didn’t take any chances.

I also did my duty to make sure I had everything in place to ensure smooth sailing for the security checkpoint at the airport with all of our son’s Type 1 Diabetes supplies.  Doctor’s note (check), all his supplies in one place (check), personal “TSA Cares” security guard to help us through (check).  Everything went smoothly and the TSA security guards assigned to help us were wonderful and got us through security not only smoothly but quickly. (They cut us in line ~ WOW!)

The 2-1/2  hour plane ride was amazingly fast compared to our usual 21-hour drive one way, so we were thrilled to finally get to Phoenix to spend some much needed time with our Arizona family.  Despite the fact that not only are we always careful about making sure our youngest has his diabetes supplies with him at all times, and we carried everything with us on the plane ~ we managed to lose a very expensive medical device that tracks his blood sugar every 5 minutes (Dexcom Receiver), while we were on the airplane.  Didn’t even realize it until we got to my in-law’s house.  (We checked with the airline and airport several times but they haven’t located it yet.)  Then my husband, our two boys, our 22-year old daughter, and our grandson all got really sick starting the first day and going from there, which pretty much ruined most of our vacation.  Thankfully, everyone was better by the time we celebrated Orion’s first birthday at the end of our trip and we had a good visit with family, so it ended well.  And we didn’t lose anything on our flight home ~ HA!

Was I disappointed that our trip didn’t go as planned after I was looking forward to it for so long?  (And went out of my way to make sure no one picked up a bug right before our trip.) YES!  Did I have a good attitude throughout the difficulty?  NO!  In fact, I was extremely aggravated and wanted so much to get mad and complain.  The problem was that I couldn’t figure out who to get mad at and who to complain to.  So I turned to God!  (After I pouted and threw a pity-party first, of course!)

After realizing that God is the one in control and there was nothing I could do,  I was able to turn my disappointment and frustrations over to Him.  And guess what?  It helped!  Our trip turned around and we had a great time.

It kind of reminded me of life.  We have plans and we have expectations.  Although we enjoy the Lord’s blessings in life, things don’t always go as we would like them to go.  Rather than going with the flow and letting life happen, let’s look for opportunities to make a difference, regardless of our assumptions on how things should be.

The biggest lesson for me in the situation was that I was able to turn my attitude around and give it to the Lord.  Once I took the focus off myself and my “ruined” vacation ~ I was able to enjoy my family.

Do you not know?  Have you not heard?  The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;  but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40: 28-31

Health and Wellness Tip

Toxins.  It doesn’t sound like something we want to have in our bodies, does it?  There are things that we eat and drink everyday that create toxins that cause stress on liver.  Carbonated and caffeinated drinks, high sugar and processed foods, processed meat and cheese, alcohol, blah, blah, blah.  We’ve heard it all before.  There are a lot of habits in our society that is completely “normal” but extremely toxic.  Most people feel like it’s fine in moderation but what is moderation?  And is it really fine?  Having something once a month will produce toxins but it won’t overload and stress out the liver… unless the liver is already stressed ~ which is most likely the case for a lot of people.  Our diets, eating out, medications, our environment, and more can create toxins and stress on our bodies and cause a lot of symptoms and weight problems.  Most are used to it and don’t realize there is a problem ~ until it’s too late.

Plexus is good at flushing out the toxins and building up the immune system.  It balances the blood sugar, helps with inflammation, balances the gut and more.  Plexus is a tool that has helped thousands of people get their life back on track, get healthy, and lose weight.  It gets to the root of the problem to heal and balance the body, so it’s not a quick fix or a temporary one.  But with consistency and patience ~ it works!  That’s my Plexus plug for the day!  These products have made a huge impact on my health and the health of my family.  I’m here to help others anyway that I can.

My other articles:

You’re Never Alone

Getting healthy and healing is awesome especially after you’ve had health issues for so long, but it’s not always smooth sailing.  The pain medication I had to take for so long after several dental procedures seemed to cause a chain reaction of health events and I’m wondering when it will all end.  I’m tired.  Part of me is feeling awesome and doing well, but the bumps in the road has me weary and frustrated.  I already knew that my road to recovery was going to be long but I didn’t know it was going to be so hard.  It probably wouldn’t have been so challenging had I not had so many pain medications that messed me up ~  but here I am.

In a lot of ways, I have continued to heal and feel better and better so there is good news in all of this.  But the last couple of weeks have been challenging with my husband working 70+ hours a week and me super sick with a upper respiratory virus that just “needs to run its course.”  The cough is making my bladder and kidney cranky after my recent kidney surgery, and causing other symptoms as well.  At my check-up this week, my doctor found lumps and sent me for mammograms, ultra sounds and a biopsy.  But my cough was so terrible, I was worried about staying still through the procedure.  (Everything looks fine, the biopsy is just routine because I’m over 40.  I get the final results next week!)

Good news!  Not only am I continuing to feel better even with the bumps in the road I had to endure but it’s easier to manage our son’s blood sugar since he started taking the new products I recently discovered called Plexus. And his severe behavior problems that have been demanding our attention for 6 years has gone away.  This is a HUGE DEAL!!!  You know how a child behaves when they’re tired because they didn’t get enough sleep the night before?  Multiply that by 100 and 24/7/365 and that’s what we were up against.  The older he got, the worse he became.  Criticism and advice from others, treatments from the doctors, diet and exercise,  supplements, he WAS allergic to all multiple vitamins so that didn’t help, reading for help online didn’t help ~ NOTHING HELPED!!!  Watching what he ate, getting plenty of rest, discipline and accountability, loving patience, and calming supplements only brought his symptoms from a 10 and above down to an 8 and only temporarily (assuming that a 1 is no symptoms.)  Giving him Plexus products has completely eliminated those symptoms.  So we’re all very relieved to say the least.  It wasn’t quick or easy to get to this point, but what helped was consistency, faithfulness and prayer.  I figured out what worked and how to give him the products and remained diligent and faithful.

This particular blog is from my heart ~ just me ~ sharing it like it is.  Nothing fancy or clever, just sharing about my struggles.  My persistent cough has rattled me to the core, the whole biopsy thing shook me, and my husband working endless hours has beaten me down.  But God is working and pouring His blessings on our family.  I thought I’d share with you so that you can be encouraged.

No matter what you’re going through ~ no matter what your trouble…

You are never alone!

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  Isaiah 41:10

No matter what life throws at you ~ you are never alone!  God will walk with you and strengthen you.  Sometimes we can’t see God working until after the storm, but keep going by faith.  He’s got you!

Health and Wellness Tip

Because I mentioned that my son’s blood sugar (T1D) and behavior issues have gotten a lot better since we started Plexus, I’m going to share a little more details as to what we are doing and why it is working.  This is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.  This is for educational purposes only, based on my experience and personal research.

We all know that gut health is important for digestive and stomach problems.  But not everyone knows that it affects blood sugar, behavior and more!  There are many physical and mental conditions that have been linked to imbalances in the gut.  90% of Serotonin in the brain is created in the gut.  Stress and anxiety can be reduced by balancing the flora in the gut and changes in the gut microbe will alter behavior.

So now we know that a healthy and balanced gut will help improve digestion, immune system function, absorption of nutrients, moods,  stress and anxiety ~ but now you also know another thing that depends on a healthy gut ~ blood sugar!

Plexus products work specifically to balance the gut and the blood sugar.  It has worked wonders and has been a huge blessing!

TriPlex: My son takes the TriPlex which is Plexus Slim, BioCleanse and ProBio5.  Together they work to balance the blood sugar, heal the gut and get rid of toxins.  These plant-based products have helped to heal and balance our son’s blood sugar and gut imbalance which helped with a lot of symptoms related to the imbalance.

Plexus Block is another product that helps with his blood sugar.  With brown seaweed and white kidney bean extract to block up to 48% of carbs and sugar without blocking any nutrients.  I was kind of skeptical of this since you take so little but to my surprise ~ IT WORKS!

VitalBiome: He also takes VitalBiome which is a probiotic directly focused on balancing the part of the gut that produces relaxation in the brain.  It helps to reduce stress and anxiety that comes from a gut imbalance.

XFactor Plus is the only vitamin on the planet that my son isn’t allergic to.  It has aloe vera which helps with absorption, prevents stomach upset and reactions.  It also have grape seed extract, black currant which is naturally high in iron and antioxidants.  This taken together with the VitalBiome is what made is symptoms go from being cut in half to being eliminated altogether.  We didn’t introduce these to him until after he was on the TriPlex for 3-4  months.

We started him slowly on the TriPlex first.

~1/3 of it for a month

~ Then 1/2

~   Then 1/2 of the Plexus Slim while giving him the full amount of the BioCleanse and ProBio5

~ Then we started him up to the full TriPlex

~ That was when we introduced him to XFactor and VitalBiome

He’s been doing fantastic and we are thrilled.  Gut health played a major role in our son’s health even though he had been taking probiotics and digestive enzymes his whole life.

PS~ As I’m sitting here with my son, both of us doing amazingly better ~ But I’m sick as can be and coughing my head off and he is having a fussy moment because I’m distracted.  Life isn’t perfect.  Healing isn’t fast.  It takes patience, faithfulness, and consistently doing the right thing even when it’s hard.  But be encouraged my friend!  You got this!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2014

Homeschooling with Confidence

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2014

Here we are saying happy new year again.  It always amazes me how time flies.  The days seem long but the years sure go fast!

Read my blog from last year about:  ~ 4 New Year’s Resolutions That Will Change Your Life ~

It’s also hard to believe that this month marks our 19th year of homeschooling.  When did we grow up?  In thinking back on our years of homeschooling there are a couple of things that have stood out to me in our adventure~

~ one is that I have lacked confidence when I shouldn’t have,

~ two is that our children have not only done well, but they have thrived despite my lack of confidence.

So how can we homeschool (or do anything for that matter) with boldness and assurance especially when we feel so inadequate?

The short answer:

~ B Y   F A I T H ~

Every successful person who has accomplished amazing things have all started at the beginning with nothing.  They all took that first step of faith and then another step after that and after that, until they reached their goals no matter how far-reaching they seemed at the starting point.

FAITH ~ is the confidence in what we hope for and the assurance of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)

Trust in the Lord’s leading of your family in this venture and move forward faithfully.  It belongs to the Lord.  He will do the work so look to Him for the strength and confidence that you will need.

1.  Be Faithful

When God lays it on your heart to do something, move forward by faith, even when fear and doubt creep in.  Lean into the Lord for His strength and remain faithful even when it’s hard always remembering to keep Christ at the center of everything.  Never neglect your relationship with Him.

~ Pray for your homeschool, your children, your family, your growth

~ Spend time in God’s Word and growing closer to the Lord

~ This seems obvious but I’m going to throw it out there anyway.  Do school every day.  When they’re young, a little bit goes a long way and when they’re older, they can do more on their own.

~ Take care of your needs.  Do something you enjoy.  Spend time everyday in personal growth.  Learn ~ Grow ~ Lead!

2.  Be a learner

~ Learn how to be an amazing parent

~ Learn to develop yourself personally for growth to be a better person

~ Learn how to do school with your children

~ Learn about the subjects your children are studying and learn along with them

~ Learn how to love learning

~ Learn something new everyday

~ Read all that you can about homeschooling, education, leadership, organization etc.

3.  Be brave

Sometimes you have to put on a brave face and do things even when you’re scared.  That’s how being a mom is period.  Doing it afraid!  Other times it’s what we think people are thinking of us that makes things tough.  We will never measure up to other people’s expectations.  You can’t allow what people think of you to affect you.

4.  Be bold

Be confident in what you do.  You are a great mom and an awesome teacher.  You have great potential to influence your children and your family.  BE BOLD!

~ Pray bold prayers

~ Pray impossible things for your homeschool, your children, and your family

~ Pray big

~ Bold prayers honor God

~ God honors bold prayers

5.  Be consistent

~ Be consistent in your daily goals

~ Set aside blocks of time for your activities

~ Make a daily checklist

~ Be disciplined in your actions

~ There is no shame in starting slow or small

6.  Be humble

~ Be open

~ Be teachable

~ Connect with God

Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will exalt you.  James 4:10

~ Discover your motives

~ Be unselfish

~ Be others focused ~ READ “The Number One Way to Eliminate Burnout”

~ Instill value and confidence in everyone you touch

Do nothing from selfish or empty conceit, but with humility of mind, regard one another as more important than yourselves.  Philippians 2:3

We can have confidence in our homeschooling, our parenting, our marriage and in life.  We have the Holy Spirit working in us and leading us.  Let’s step out by faith and start HOMESCHOOLING WITH CONFIDENCE!

Health and Wellness Tip

When you’re not feeling well and not on top of your game, it can hinder your motivation and your progress.  Our food, our environment and the lifestyle that is so popular today can damage our health in unimaginable ways.  It happens so slowly and for so long that we don’t even notice how poor our health has become.

~ Brain fog

~ Lack of energy

~ Irritability

~ Chronic pain

~ Fatigue

~ Memory problems

~ Anxiety

And there are hundreds more symptoms that can prevent us from being our best.  This has a great negative side affect on our lives and our family.  Especially if our family is feeling the same way!

It’s essential to take a closer look at what we’re eating and the supplements we’re taking to make sure we’re getting all the necessary nutrients to achieve optimal health.

The Lord has answered my prayers and cries for help.  He brought me to a company that specializes in gut health, blood sugar balance, detoxification, safe and healthy weight loss, and inflammation.  I’m spreading the word about how Plexus has been a life-changing experience for our family.  I want to help educate others on the importance on nutrition and balance in the body.  Health and wellness doesn’t happen by accident.  We have to be intentional with our diet and exercise and even with taking the right vitamins and supplements so we can live our best lives for the glory of God.

Be well and may God bless you!

Let’s Go to Church

I know so many people who were abused and mistreated in the church which left them completely devastated.  I know children whose spiritual lives were sabotaged by leaders or other people in the church.  It happens.  I’ve seen it.  It has happened to our own family.

I have no words to even begin to describe how incredibly horrible this is!  People who never set foot in a church again and some have even turned their backs on God after a “leader” or someone in a church has hurt them so terribly.  There are sometimes wolves in sheep’s clothing in the church and we need keep watch not only for our own sakes but also for our children and grandchildren too.

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.

Romans 16:17-18

If you suspect this is going on in your church, or something seems off, don’t ignore it.  Seek help!  It’s important!  The worst thing to do, however, is to stop going to church or to turn your back on the Lord.  That’s exactly what satan wants us to do and he’ll use the church to do just that if we let him.  Don’t let him!  Get counseling, seek advice, talk to someone that you trust.  Do whatever it takes to get help and healing.  It’s not your fault.  It’s not God’s fault.  It’s the consequence of sin and a fallen world.

Here are a few things that we personally look for when seeking a church:

1. Sound Doctrine

This is the most obvious common sense.  We make sure the church is a bible believing church with bible beliefs and doctrine.  We go through their doctrinal statement and statement of faith.  This should be 100% biblically based on not politically correct.  Everyone has their personal preference on certain issues but it should never go against God’s word.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  Colossians 3:16

2.  Servant’s Heart

The pastors, elders and leaders of the church should have a servant’s heart.  They should love the Lord, love people, and love their families.  If they are moody, manipulative, give people the cold shoulder, act grumpy towards the people in the church on a regular basis, then we won’t be back.  When church leaders view this as a job and not a ministry ~ it shows.  People can tell.

Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor.  1 Corinthians 10:24

I’m not saying that leaders in the church need to be perfect all the time and not share their feelings or frustrations.  In fact, I feel that pastors and leaders should be encouraged, prayed for, and loved on every single day.  I’m talking about the leaders who don’t like people, play favorites, and push people out the door with their attitude.

Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

Titus 1:7-9

3.  Sin is Not Ignored

When sin is allowed in the church and not addressed, it ruins lives and ruins the church.  If there is sexual sin, sexual abuse, drug and alcohol abuse being allowed in the church, and the leaders are making excuses or sweeping it under the rug ~ RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!

I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?  God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.” 1 Corinthians 5:9-13

4.  LOVE

We look for a church where love is demonstrated on a regular basis.  When people in the church love each other, love their leaders and congregation, love new people, love non-christians, love their community, love people in other cultures ~ basically love outside themselves, it makes for a strong church and individual growth.  That’s not to say that they don’t love themselves because I truly believe that is really important.  But their focus is on meeting the needs and loving on everyone around them.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  1 John 4:7

Read my blog about this very thing:

“The Number One Way to Eliminate Burnout”

5.  Encouragement

God wants us to go to church for US!  It’s a time in the week, set apart where we focus on God with other believers to study God’s Word together, worship God together, and have communion to remember Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection.  It’s for us to get encouragement and courage.  To lay the stress and pressure of the world at the feet of Jesus so we can focus on Him to renew our strength.  If someone in the church is sabotaging this for us ~ it needs to be addressed.

~ Pray for wisdom

~ Talk to the person who is doing the hurting

~ Be firm but kind

~ Talk to a leader, pastor or counselor with the person to work things out

~ Forgive

~ Move forward

~ Prayerfully figure out if there needs to be more steps taken.  Obviously, every situation will need to be handled differently depending on the situation and severity.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.  Hebrews 10:24-25

If there is past hurt in your heart from the church, please know that this is not from the Lord.  There are good churches out there.  Healing, love, freedom, and forgiveness is yours to take!  God is loving and powerful and will heal and lead you.  Journal your feelings, pray continually for healing, seek help, get encouragement.  Please let me know how I can pray for you and how I can help.  Our family has been there.  You are NEVER ALONE!

Health and Wellness Tip

Last week I shared our story of how I discovered that brain health and balance begins in the gut.  I also shared how we’ve been diligent to take high quality probiotics, yeast killers, digestive enzymes and papaya tablets daily for years.  So why wasn’t this healing our gut and brain?  I’m so glad you asked!

We were missing something HUGE!  We found a probiotic that has an enzyme that will breakdown the protective shield that will hide the yeast. Plexus has a special blend of probiotics that targets yeast overgrowth, gut balance, digestive health and brain health.  AND it works!!

Plexus TriPlex are three products that work together, to focus on the major things that cause health and weight problems in todays society.  Blood sugar balance (not just for diabetics!), gut health, inflammation and detox.

I’ve seen amazing results in not only myself and my family, but also in thousands of others.  I’m so thankful!

I hit some sort of “I’ve HAD IT!!” attitude last summer.  I read 4 books on brain health, for crying out loud!  Who does that?  Someone who’s fed up with doing everything they know possible with diet, exercise, supplements and treatments and their entire family is still having major health issues ~  and someone who is bound and determined to get to the bottom of this health crisis.

Lots of prayer ~ lots of research ~ and lots of trying everything under the sun!

God answered my prayers ~ and in a funny way too!  His sense of humor made me laugh and cry at the same time.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  Mark 11:24

If you’re struggling with health or weight issues.  Pray and ask the Lord for wisdom.  Then read my blog!

The Number One Way to Eliminate Burnout

We hit the ground running each morning!

We work tirelessly everyday taking care of the needs of our family!

Laundry is forever a chore that is never finished!

Mealtime again?  Why does everyone have to eat all the time?

There is not enough time in the day to get it all done!

So how can we avoid burnout when life can be hectic and threatens to take us out?

There is one answer.

One key component that will prevent any of us from:

~ getting burned out

~ getting frustrated

~ throwing in the towel

BEING OTHERS FOCUSED!

“Intentionally adding value to others today will bring you fulfillment everyday.”  John Maxwell

When we intentionally add value into other people’s lives ~ we are fulfilled!

Be devoted to one another in love.  Honor one another above yourselves.  Romans 12:10

All of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit.  1 Peter 3:8

Be intentional to seek ways to add value to everyone, not just those closest to us.  It helps us not to see others as obstacles that must be conquered.

It not only prevents us from crashing and burning, it also blesses others and honors God!

HEALTH AND WELLNESS TIPS

You’ve probably heard by now that gut health is very important.

Having a healthy gut and digestive system is tied to energy production, immune system health, and also brain health.

Serotonin is responsible for regulating our mood, our appetite and sleep.  Having a relaxed and positive feeling is the result of just the right amount of serotonin in our brain.

Did you know that 90% of serotonin is produced in the gut and 10% is produced in the brain?  If our gut is out of balance ~ it affects our brain!

That’s a double whammy!

Personally ~ we have been careful to treat our children’s significant digestive issues.  Finding out that their food allergies, and autoimmune disorders, Type 1 Diabetes and Celiac’s disease, are all gut imbalance issues made me diligent with adding probiotics, yeast killers, digestive enzymes and papaya tablets to our supplement routine.  But most of their symptoms are brain related.  Since I thought we were treating their gut issues affectively, I read 4 brain imbalance books last summer, written by doctors and psychologists, to help me with other symptoms we were dealing with.  I found that their brain problems were actually gut problems!  ADHD, ADD, ODD, sleep problems, behavior problems, memory problems, difficulty in school, difficulty talking, moodiness, hormone imbalance etc. are all reasons why I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to ease some of these symptoms.  I found the answer:

GUT HEALTH!

The Cause of Destruction

A foolish son is destruction to his father, and the contentions of a wife are a constant dripping.  Proverbs 19:13

I think it is interesting that a foolish son and a contentious wife are both mentioned in this verse as detrimental to the husband.  A mother has a great impact on her children and her husband and sometimes I think we forget.  By being intentional every day and pouring God’s love into our family, it allows God to work in our hearts as well as the hearts of our husband and children.

It’s not about controlling the people around us, as tempting as it can be sometimes, it’s about looking to the Lord, loving our family, and building relationships.

It’s OK of we fail.  It’s OK if our children and spouse fails.  We’re all going to fall down.  It’s important our family has our love, support and encouragement when things go south.  We should be a safe place when the people we love the most have a bad day or act stupid.  Nagging and being contentious should be thrown out with yesterdays trash whether it’s toward our husband or our children.  If my words offend you, don’t mind me, I’m just talking to myself!

If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.  If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.  If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Without love we are contributing to the destruction of our family.  Our children will be foolish and our husbands will be bitter.  And without God in our lives, we can not love.

Seek the Lord.  Ask Him for wisdom.  Pray for encouragement and for answers.  God will make a way for you to be the very best for your family.

Health and Wellness Tip

Many of us know that antibiotics kill the good bacteria in our gut.  But not too many people know that without the good bacteria, fungus will grow stronger and line the colon, prevent the nutrients from our food from being absorbed and will take our immune system hostage! YUCK!

This in turn causes so many diseases and health and weight issues so common today.  Gut balance is the root system of our health.  We all need healing in our digestive system and everyone needs a good probiotic!

~ Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables

~ Add chopped veggies to all of your meals, like sauces, soups, beans etc.

~ Drink plenty of water.  Set an alarm every hour if you have to *AHEM*

~ Plexus products have hands down made a huge impact on my health.  It’s not a magic pill, but a tool for those serious about getting healthy, staying healthy or losing weight.

Plant-based, powerful, potent, effective, safe!

HaPpY Thanksgiving

I didn’t get an article written in my blog last Friday because life happens.  We had family visiting from Phoenix for Thanksgiving, I got sick with a bladder infection, then the antibiotic made me sick by tearing up my stomach (I’m better now WHEW!)  I was going to skip a week but decided to send you this blessing!

“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”  Numbers 6:24-26

You are amazing ~ you are wonderful ~ and you are making a difference.  You are a blessing to me and to your family and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebrating with your family.

Thank you so much for reading my blogs over the past year.  You mean so much to me!

Health and Wellness Tip

Thanksgiving is over! Leftovers are gone! There is absolutely NO REASON to head into December thinking, “I’ll get back on track in January.” No way! You deserve to feel awesome all month long!! And you absolutely don’t want to start 2018 at plus 5-10 lbs! What I will be doing:

1. Lots of water! With lemon! (Gentle, natural detoxer!)

2. Continuing the supplements that make me feel good: magnesium, Omegas, probiotics, aloe-enhanced multivitamin & blood sugar balancer.

3. In bed earlier than midnight! It’s important to reset my sleep schedule so I have a good week!

4. Low carb day today. I will be removing all the extra pies, cake, treats, etc. from my house so that my entire family can detox from the sugar (Sorry kids!)

5. Cardio workout to get my heart rate up.

6. Make a solid food and exercise plan for the upcoming week.

7. Know that I will be craving SUGAR today and likely tomorrow from all of the treats.  But if I have two sugarless days in a row, I’ll effectively detox and be feeling like myself again. The more sugar you eat, the more you WILL crave it!!

8. Stay off the scale!!

Happy New Week!

I know this is late notice but anyone interested in the Black Friday special that ends 5pm EST today.  Text or call me and I’ll help you get started on your health journey! (623) 238-0494
